She is founder and CEO of Open Heart Behavior Services, a leading provider of empowering programs for individuals with disabilities. As a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with a master’s in applied behavior analysis, Taemy has years of experience in designing, managing, and improving clinical programs targeted to helping individuals realize their full potential. Her analytical capabilities and strategic orientation have enabled her to rise into leadership ranks and affect change across health systems.

    Inspired by seeing the transformative impact programs can have, Taemy founded Open Heart Behavior Services in 2022. As CEO, she translates her blend of clinical and business acumen into building programs focused on client empowerment and community integration. Both ambitious and compassionate, she pushes tirelessly for innovations that change lives.

  • Joy Chavers (COO) - M. Ed., BCBA

    Meet Joy Chavers, the dynamic Chief Operating Officer and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst originally from Chicago, now embracing the beauty of Colorado Springs. With a passion for supporting adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), Joy brings an arsenal of expertise, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Trauma Assumed Care, and Cultural Competency.

    Her mission is crystal clear - empowering adults to pursue their dreams, secure employment, and embrace the life they desire. Joy also believes in the power of family and caregiver training, ensuring a strong support network for those she serves. What sets Joy apart is her unwavering commitment to supporting both her client's and their caregivers in engaging in self-care and living a fulfilling life.

    Through collaboration, mutual respect, and a lot of laughter, Joy empowers her clients to discover the joy in their process and achieve positive outcomes.

  • Shaile Flanagan - Program Manager, Lead RBT

    Shaile Flanagan is the dedicated Director of CREATION: Center for the Arts, where she has worked passionately with adult IDD and elderly populations for over 7 years. Originally hailing from South Dakota, Shaile now resides in Colorado Springs with her three beloved cats. Known for her kindness and compassion, Shaile brings warmth and empathy to our program. Her creativity and welcoming spirit have had an immensely positive impact on countless lives.

  • Karl Gilbert, RBT, PCM Certified

    Formerly an elementary school music teacher, Karl is now pursuing a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, bringing a unique perspective to Open Heart. Karl demonstrates steadfast attention to person-centered care, catering his sessions to each clients individual strengths and interests.
